Fibreglass mesh helps to bond the mortar and plaster. This product has an excellent resistance so as to repair plaster surfaces reliably and efficiently. Ideal for repairing cracks and joints in the wall.
By using this fibreglass mesh, you can get a professional sealing, as it allows the coverage of joints and holes in surfaces and walls with plaster. This is an effective and appropriate solution for repairing damaged areas. The weave it is woven is thick and provides strength. The tear-resistant fibreglass fabric adheres to the surface to be treated. Suitable for use in processes related to construction and renovation.

Alkali Resistance: Must be coated (typically with an alkaline-resistant latex or polymer) to withstand the harsh, high-alkali environment of cement, lime, and plaster without degrading over time.
Weight / Density: Varies by application; lighter meshes (around 70g/m²) suit interior gypsum repairs and crack bridging, while standard or heavy-duty meshes (145g/m² to 168g/m²) are used for general rendering, facades, and external wall insulation.
Mesh Aperture / Weave: Commonly features a 4×4 mm or 5×5 mm grid pattern, balancing mortar penetration with high tensile strength.
Adhesive vs. Non-Adhesive: Most exterior and heavy-rendering meshes are non-adhesive, meaning they are pressed directly into a freshly applied wet basecoat rather than stuck on with a pre-applied sticky backing.
How to Install for Wall Rendering
Apply First Basecoat: Trowel an initial layer of base render, plaster, or mortar onto the wall surface.
Embed the Mesh: Roll or press the fiberglass mesh (such as options from Impera Italia or Cornish Lime) smoothly into the wet first coat while it is still soft. Ensure adjacent strips overlap by at least 10 cm.
Trowel Flat: Smooth the mesh completely flat using a plastering trowel so no wrinkles, air pockets, or dry spots remain, and make sure the mesh sits roughly in the upper third of the basecoat.
Apply Second Coat: Once the first coat sets or firms up, apply the second base or finish coat over the mesh before proceeding with final painting or decorating.
