This mounting frame uses expanded metal mesh (steel mesh) as the main panel, replacing traditional wooden boards and welded wire mesh. It is an ideal wall-mounted growing carrier for platycerium / staghorn fern, widely used by plant collectors, nurseries and export traders.
The frame forms a cavity to hold sphagnum moss for mounting staghorn ferns. Uniform diamond openings deliver excellent air permeability and drainage. Pups (offsets) can easily grow out through mesh holes for simple division later, also known as staghorn fern pup frame.
Expanded steel mesh has great rigidity and structural stability. It will not sag or deform when filled with moss. Available in hot-dip galvanized, powder-coated or 304 stainless steel finish for rust resistance, suitable for indoor and semi-outdoor greenhouse use.Product Specification

Product Advantages
High rigidity & anti-collapse: Expanded mesh is integrally stretched without welding points. It stays flat after moss filling, no bulging or sagging for long-term wall hanging.
Good airflow to grow pups: Continuous diamond holes improve ventilation and prevent root rot. New pups grow outward through holes, no need to break the whole moss ball during division.
Multiple anti-rust options: Galvanized for cost efficiency; powder coating for nice appearance; 304 stainless steel for coastal & high-humidity greenhouses.
Moss cavity design: Built-in depth cavity keeps sphagnum moist. Reserved position for back spacers, creating air gap between frame and wall to avoid mold.
Custom shapes & sizes: Square, rectangular or special shapes available. Fits small seedlings, mature plants and large clumps. Suitable for retail and mass nursery planting.
Suitable Plants
All Platycerium / staghorn fern varieties, also for epiphytic orchids, bromeliads, davallia and other epiphytic plants for wall mounting.
Instructions
Soak sphagnum moss fully, squeeze until damp (no dripping), fill into the frame cavity and press gently.
Place staghorn fern with shield base against moss, bud upward. Secure plant with plastic-coated wire through mesh holes.
Fit back spacers before hanging. Keep 1.5–3cm gap between frame and wall.
Water by full soaking: submerge the whole frame for 5–10 mins, drain excess water before hanging back.
